ACROSS contributes to the SNS White Paper on “NETWORK AND SERVICE MANAGEMENT ADVANCEMENTS: Key Frameworks and Interfaces towards Open, Intelligent and Reliable 6G networks”

We are happy to announce the publication of the SNS White Paper “NETWORK AND SERVICE MANAGEMENT ADVANCEMENTS: Key Frameworks and Interfaces towards Open, Intelligent, and Reliable 6G Networks”, published by the Reliable Software Networks Working Group under SNS JU, with contributions from our partners at UoP and Christos Tranoris.

This white paper, developed by the SNS JU Reliable Software Networks Working Group (Software WG), explores key frameworks and interfaces for enabling open, intelligent, and reliable 6G networks. As these components are software-driven, software has become a fundamental element of mobile telecommunication networks, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of both 5G and 6G systems. With APIs, frameworks, enablers, and advanced security mechanisms, 6G software will transform networks into dynamic, intelligent, and secure platforms, capable of meeting the demands of future applications.

These trends are evident in several network processes such as:

  • Network Programmability: APIs enable seamless integration of complex 6G use cases, enhancing interoperability, dynamic service creation, and network capability exposure across domains like AI, edge computing, and IoT.
  • Frameworks: Reusable components ensure programmability, scalability, intelligent operations, and security, accelerating high-performance use case development.
  • Management: AI-driven zero-touch MANO automates E2E slice orchestration under strict SLAs, optimizing resource management for diverse vertical needs.
  • Security: Advanced mechanisms like Secure Onboarding, SOAR-enhanced orchestration, decentralized analytics, and privacy-aware orchestration ensure a secure, trustworthy 6G environment.
