ACROSS shortlisted for the 2026 ETSI Research & Innovation Awards

We are proud to announce that the ACROSS project has been shortlisted for the 2026 ETSI Research & Innovation Awards in the “Publicly Funded Collaborative Project” category.

The ETSI Research and Innovation Awards is a newly established initiative recognising outstanding contributions from the research community to ETSI’s standardisation and open-source activities. The “Publicly Funded Collaborative Project” category highlights projects that have successfully transformed research outcomes into impactful standardisation contributions or software deliverables.

ACROSS has been recognised for its significant and sustained contributions to ETSI Software Development Groups (SDGs), particularly ETSI SDG OpenSlice (OSL), where the project played a key role in advancing the OpenSlice multi-domain service orchestrator.

Throughout the project, ACROSS introduced new orchestration and automation capabilities to ETSI OpenSlice, including support for custom closed-loop operations leveraging monitoring data and events from the data plane to trigger service and network actions. In addition, ACROSS contributed to the development of new components such as CRIDGE and metrico, while also laying the foundations for the Hyper Orchestrator (HypO), a new OpenSlice Multi-Domain Group (MDG) derived from UBITECH’s Maestro orchestration platform.

The project also contributed to strengthening the interoperability and stability of ETSI SDG OpenSlice and ETSI SDG TeraFlowSDN, culminating in the successful deployment and validation of ETSI ISG ZSM PoC #16 across a Pan-European testbed spanning Greece and Spain.

These contributions represent important steps towards secure orchestration, automation, and the development of sovereign European software platforms for future 6G networks.

ACROSS has been shortlisted alongside FLEX-SCALE, Hexa-X-II, and TIMES. The winners will be announced during the gala dinner of the EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications) & 6G Summit 2026, taking place in Málaga, Spain.

Stay tuned for further updates!
